Press Release - Mexico Trade Misson 2009
FOOD & BEVERAGE TRADE MISSION TO MEXICO
Following on the heels of its ongoing trade development work in Latin America and in conjunction with our partner office in Mexico City, Canada Export Centre is organizing a trade mission to Mexico for Canadian food and beverage companies. This in-market opportunity for Canadian companies will include face-to-face meetings with buyers for three of Mexico’s largest grocery retail chains, including a key participant in the retail, wholesale and convenience sectors operating over 450 stores throughout Mexico. These and other Mexican buyers have expressed interest in both private label and branded products from Canadian suppliers.
Francisco Gomez, Director of Canada Export Centre - Mexico, will be conducting a seminar to assist Canadian delegates in preparing to take their products to market in Mexico. Mr. Gomez has more than 30 years of experience in facilitating trade between Canada and Mexico and will be present throughout the mission to offer assistance, support and advice where needed. Representatives from Canada Export Centre headquarters in Vancouver will also be present throughout the mission.
Why Mexico? Mexico is the 13th largest importer of agri-foods products globally, with consumer goods comprising 70% of imports. Mexico strategically forms a bridge between Latin America and the southern United States, giving Canadian companies the opportunity to further develop and expand their international sales throughout the region. Apart from the obvious NAFTA free-trade agreement, Mexico offers Canadian exporters a host of business opportunities. Canada Export Centre Role Canada Export Centre provides consulting, marketing and commercial services to Canadian companies interested in exporting their products to Mexico and over 20 additional countries around the world. Our services help identify qualified trade opportunities, benefit from the NAFTA agreement signed between Canada, Mexico and the United States, as well as to assist in executing international trade transactions. We have cultivated close alliances with customs brokers in all major ports of entry to Mexico, as well as with logistics companies, lawyers, public notaries and other in-market service providers. Your company can directly benefit from over 30 years of experience in taking Canadian products to market with the largest retailers and department stores in Mexico. Read more press releases
